This course is not intended to turn advisers into compliance officers or investigators. Advisers are not expected to trace blockchain transactions, verify technical crypto activity, or make determinations about criminality.
The adviser’s role in managing crypto-related AML risk is to recognize when client explanations, behaviour or activity do not make sense in light of what is known about the client, to ask appropriate questions, and to escalate concerns where reasonable comfort cannot be achieved.
Detailed analysis, investigation and regulatory reporting sit with designated compliance and AML functions. This course focuses on adviser and key individual judgement at the point where risk becomes visible.
